One of the showcase’s many marquee matchups—Duncanville, the No. 1 ranked team in Class 6A, against 11th-ranked Seven Lakes—is set for Friday at 7 p.m. This game features some of the state’s best players with point guard AJ Bates, a Louisiana Tech commit, and sophomore standout Nasir Price leading Seven Lakes against Kayden Edwards, a four-star shooting guard from the class of 2025, and a Duncanville team loaded with young talent.
Additionally, Duncanville head coach David Peavy returns to the bench after missing the entirety of the 2022-23 season because he played an ineligible player during the 2021-22 season. Duncanville went on to win the 2022 UIL 6A state championship but was later forced to forfeit all its games and was stripped of the title due to playing an ineligible player.
The showcase finale between Booker T. Washington and Pasadena Memorial on Saturday night is one of the most highly-anticipated games of the season. Washington’s Chris McDermott, a 6-foot-7 senior forward rated as the ninth-best player in the state, in a game that is certain to be electric.

This year’s showcase is no different, as it features plenty of players that will go on to play major Division I basketball.
