The first time I saw Bryce Griggs play was against Shadow Creek in a district rivalry game. He must have put up 20+ points 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Bryce was the best player on the court, after the game I asked a friend about the kid who led Hightower in scoring that night (Bryce), and he told me, “That kid is a freshman”. Wait What? I thought he was a junior or senior, Not a freshman. From that point, I made it my business to keep up with that kids.
Forward to Bryce Sophmore’s season where he averaged 24+ points per game going into the playoffs and the only team that could stop his trip to UIL state was the rival, Shadow Creek. Well, Bryce didn’t allow anyone to stop him as he went on a legendary playoff run averaging 26+ points per game and 43 point performance versus Shadow Creek in the Reginal Finals.
Hightower will travel to the Alamodome to play Lancaster in the State Semifinal match.
